So what does Hurricane Earl have to do with Genealogy? Do you still have your genealogy and family trees on paper in the closet? I lost some important papers because of a leak in the back of a closet, the mold and mildew ruined family pictures and silverfish ate some of my grandmother's stories and poems! Oh, was I upset!
Yes, there are applications out there that allow you to sift through your GEDCOM, but when there is a storm can you hook up with my genealogy site though the airwaves? What if you had everything on a flash-drive so no matter what happens to the 'net you could still access and work on your family lines?
